PFL CEO Peter Murray talks playoffs, confirms fans will be present at 2021 championship event
For Chicago White Sox play-by-play man Jason Benetti, he is tired of not being able to travel for road games with the team.
Here we are in the second half of the 2021 MLB season and while things feel like they’re almost back to normal, there’s still some things missing for the teams off the field. That’s because broadcast teams still aren’t traveling with the clubs for road games.
For the Chicago White Sox, play-by-play announcer Jason Benetti has just about had it. He’s itching to travel with the team so he can properly do his job.
White Sox announcer Jason Benetti can’t wait to be able to travel with the team
As you can see in the clip above, Benetti is quite passionate when talking about this subject. If you ask him, he can’t 100 percent perform his job if he’s not around the club for the road games. This is 50 percent of the season’s contests we’re talking about here.
There’s so much that happens during these road trips, which of course helps Benetti and the other broadcast teams across the country fill fans in on. Now, though, that task has been made nearly impossible.
For the White Sox, they’re in the middle of what could turn out to be an unforgettable season. Despite all of the injury problems, the club is a head-turning 54-35 on the campaign and in first place of the AL Central standings. Chicago is eight games ahead of the Cleveland Indians.
Hopefully later on this season, things can go back to normal and Benetti can get back on the road and see everything like he used to. Until he’s given the green light, though, you better believe he’s not going to be happy about it.
