What This UFC Fighter Did To Get Miley Cyrus Attention Is Amazing

Love was in the air over the Octagon at UFC 258 Saturday night when one fighter named Julian Marquez took his shot for a Valentine’s Day with Miley Cyrus in his victorious post-fight interview, with the pop star replying to his request with one of her own. While we give Marquez credit for his efforts, we wonder, is what Miley Cyrus asking for too much or worth it for a date?

Las Vegas was home to UFC 258 on Valentine’s Day eve … and one of the fights on the card involved Julian Marquez, who approached and entered the octagon with the Blondie song Heart of Glass as performed by Miley Cyrus. Marquez went on to score a stunning final round win by forcing a tap out by Maki Pitolo with less than 45 seconds left in the match. The anaconda choke hold used to win the match earned Marquez a $50,000 performance of the night bonus in what was his first UFC win since December 2017 after battling a series of injuries.

In his post-fight interview, Marquez noted, “I’ve been waiting 31 months to get on this damn mic,” before turning into a poem by saying, “This is my time to shine, so Miley Cyrus, will you be my valentine?” A few hours later, Cyrus replied to his offer with a request she posted on Twitter: “Shave an MC into your chest hair and I am YOURS … Happy VDay and Congrats my love!”

All kinds of props to Julian Marquez for everything he did Saturday night. Clearly his confidence allowed him to begin and end the day with Miley Cyrus on his mind, and in between did the best thing he could do to grab her attention, win his UFC match.

I can’t help but remember when NBC sportscaster Ahmad Rashad proposed to his girlfriend, television actress Phylicia Ayers-Allen during the network’s Thanksgiving Day parade coverage in (believe it or not) 1985!

It would be outright crazy for Julian Marquez not the do a little manscaping and seal the deal with Miley Cyrus with two little letters cut in his chest hair. Is what the singer asking for too much? Of course not, because there are not too many men or women who haven’t done the same or more for someone they want to impress and be with. And after surviving everything he did to get back into the UFC and earn a victory in the octagon, dealing with Cyrus might seem tame by comparison for Marquez, making him perfectly qualified to be her Valentine.
