Streams of “Elephant” rose at the tail end of the streaming tracking week (Feb. 26-March 4) as well, with the song garnering 929,000 global streams, up 3%, according to MRC Data (with more gains possible in the upcoming tracking period of March 5-11).
“Elephant” was the Australia-based Tame Impala’s breakthrough single in the U.S., peaking at No. 8 on the Alternative Airplay chart in October 2013. Since then, the project of Kevin Parker has earned an additional Alternative Airplay top 10, two Adult Alternative Airplay No. 1s and a pair of Billboard 200 top fives, led most recently by the No. 3-peaking The Slow Rush in February 2020.
