Stanford needed a furious comeback Tuesday, while South Carolina cruised into the Final Four

After taking care of business, in very different ways, top-seeds Stanford and South Carolina have set up a rematch of the 2017 National Semifinals for the Women’s Final Four in San Antonio.

It was a “tale of two halves,” as top-seed Stanford came roaring back from 14 down to defeat second-seed Louisville, 78-63. Ashten Prechtel came off the bench to score 16 points on a perfect 6-for-6 shooting–including three from beyond-the-arc–for the Cardinal, who return to the Final Four for the first time since 2017.

Led by Zia Cooke, five Gamecocks scored in double figures, as top-seed South Carolina rolled past six-seed Texas, 62-34. After opening up a comfortable lead, the Gamecocks slammed the door shut, completely blanking the Longhorns in the 4th Quarter. Dawn Staley will try to equal the success of her most recent Final Four appearance, when the Columbia school captured the national title in 2017.
