Sech Notches Third Top 10 on Top Latin Albums With ’42’

The Panamanian artist has notched two other Top Latin Albums top 10s: Sueños, his album debut (No. 3 peak, August 2019) and 1 of 1 (No. 4 high, June 2020). In between, The Academy, a joint effort with Dalex, launched and peaked at No. 11 (Nov. 2019).

The Top Latin Albums chart ranks the most popular Latin albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album.

With his new top 10, Sech becomes just the fourth rhythmic act to secure a top 10 position with a new album on Top Latin Albums in 2021. Who are the other three winners? Anuel and Ozuna, with their collaborative Los Dioses (Feb. 6-dated list), and Karol G with KG0516 (April 10-dated tally), both one-week champs.

42 is a nod to Jackie Robinson, the first African-American athlete to play in Major League Baseball. The number was later worn by compatriot and former New York Yankees pitcher Mariano Rivera; both players served as inspiration to Sech.

42 yielded a song on the streaming-, airplay- and sales-based Hot Latin Songs chart: “911,” a No. 15 peak on the April 17-dated list.

The set was co-produced by Sech with longtime collaborator, Cerebro, and producers Dimelo Flow and Jhon El Divertido.
