Said Sowma def. Vitaly Minakov after he discloates finger at Bellator 269

Said Sowma beat Vitaly Minakov after Minakov dislocated his finger.

Bellator 269 saw a shocking loss for Vitaly Minakov. After a back and forth outing, Minakov seemed to have the lead in the final round (though that’s up for debate), but he ended up dislocating his finger causing the ref to wave off the fight. This allowed Said Sowma to get the victory by TKO after Minakov couldn’t pop his finger back into place. The ref waved off the fight and Sowma

The loss for Minakov is only the second of his career and it certainly wasn’t a decision that the folks in the arena wanted; as their countrymen and fellow Russain Minakov ended up getting the loss. It caused some stir, admittedly, because once Minakov got the finger back into place,  he seemed ready to go. The ref and doctor didn’t agree and since the doctor needed to be the one to relocate Minakov’s finger, there was no way the fight could continue. Sowma did do enough to possibly win the fight on his own and with only a few minutes left in the fight, it’s not like the win for Sowma will be tainted but a rematch could be in order.

Bellator 269 took place on, Oct. 23, live from VTB Arena in Moscow, Russia. Follow along with FanSided for all your news and highlights.
