Romelu Lukaku tells Inter Milan he wants a Chelsea transfer

Romelu Lukaku could be on the verge of a return to the English Premier League, as talks between Chelsea and Inter Milan continue to intensify.

Fresh off a Champions League victory last season, Chelsea FC is ready to make some moves to put them in the English Premier League title hunt. With a striker being their focus, the Blues have been linked with multiple players, including Erling Haaland.

Now, though, it’s looking like Romelu Lukaku could be making a return to Stamford Bridge. Per soccer insider Gianluca DiMarzio, the talks between the two sides have grown and Lukaku has informed the Serie A club that he’d like to play for Chelsea. Will things get done soon?

Chelsea is on the brink of welcoming back star striker Romelu Lukaku back to the EPL

Lukaku is no stranger to Chelsea, as he was with the team from 2011-2014. It should be noted, however, that he was loaned out to West Brom and Everton during that time and only made 10 appearances for Chelsea.

Having said that, Lukaku has become one of the best strikers on the planet. Whether it’s with Inter Milan or the Belgium national team, the lefty has a knack for putting that ball into the back of the net. For Lukaku, a return to the EPL would also come after a not-so fun stint with Manchester United.

He simply did not live up to the hype with the Red Devils and left in 2019 to join Inter. Now, Lukaku has the chance to get back in the best league in the world and remind people all over England of just how talented he can be. In order for that to happen, Chelsea will need to put a big-money offer on the table for Inter to accept. Lukaku is hoping that happens. Only time will tell if it does.
