Paul Stanley Confirms Netflix Is Nearing a Deal for KISS Biopic

According to the report, Netflix is nearing a deal for the flick, which has the working title Shout It Out Loud, a standout song from the band’s 1976 album Destroyer.

Joachim Rønning is said to be directing, with a script penned by Ole Sanders and an earlier draft by William Blake Herron. The biopic is reportedly a co-production of Mark Canton’s Atmosphere Entertainment and Universal Music Group.

Thanks to the box-office success of Bohemian Rhapsody and Rocketman, dealmakers have been hunting the next big musical biopic in the international film markets for several years.

Shout It Out Loud might be that film. The tale will likely focus on the unlikely friendship of Stanley and Gene Simmons, and the classic lineup with Ace Frehley and drummer Peter Criss. Together, they would become every parent’s worst nightmare with their painted faces, anthems about rockin’ and rollin’ all night (and partying every day), and ample use of fake blood, real fire and lightning bolts sprayed around stadiums everywhere.

The fourpiece was inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2014. Their career will wrap up with the final date on their End of the Road Tour, which kicked off in January of 2019.
