Nathaniel Rateliff and Regina King dreamed about love and what else is in the air this time of year in New York ahead of their Saturday Night Live debuts.
The newly minted Golden Globe-nominated director will be hosting the show for the first time, while the singer-songwriter will make his debut as the show’s musical guest. King and Rateliff joined SNL castmember Beck Bennett for the official promo Thursday (Feb. 11), which highlighted their inefficient “power of positive thinking” exercise of recalling what makes February in New York the “most magical time of the year” — the wind, the chill, the slush, the sun setting at 4:30, regular-season NBA games…
The Denver-based singer later finds himself third-wheeling when Bennett unintentionally asks King to be his Valentine while on the phone with his wife, whom he has no problem ditching for the actress/director.
