Make Music Day returns to Danbury and Ridgefield June 21

The streets of Danbury and Ridgefield will be filled with music in June on Make Music Day.

Make Music Day is a free live music celebration held across both towns on June 21. It will take place from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Danbury. Times for the Ridgefield event were not listed. The event celebrates International Make Music Day, which invites people around the world to create music regardless of their playing experience. Anyone can participate if they register to perform, according to the Make Music Day website.

“Encouraging both instrumental and vocal, in which persons of a wide variety of musical backgrounds can study and perform classical and modern compositions to improve their musical ability and to share the joy of music with the people of the greater Danbury area,” the event’s website reads.

The event moves through different locations in Danbury throughout the day, including Mothership Bakery & Caf?, the DaSilva Building, Empire of the Incas, The Danbury Music Centre, Savings Bank of Danbury, the Danbury Library, Palace Theatre and the Los Rivera Caf?. In Ridgefield, the venues will be the Ridgefield Library, Ridgefield Town Hall, Lounsbury House, Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center, RPAC Gallery, D. Colabella Fine Art and First Congregational Church, according to its website.
