Baker Mayfield’s cleats are honoring a fallen American hero
Carson Wentz just threw one of the worst INTs in NFL history
Cleveland Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield left Week 2’s contest with a shoulder injury.
The last thing Cleveland Browns fans wanted to see was what Baker Mayfield hunched over leaving the field on Sunday afternoon.
Mayfield tried to make a tackle after throwing an interception early in the first half, but appeared to have injured his shoulder in the process. He left the field and headed straight to the medical tent, bent over and sending panic throughout the stadium.
Browns depth chart: Browns backup QB
With Baker out for at least the rest of this game, if not longer than that, the Browns will turn to a familiar face for Kevin Stefanski: Case Keenum.
Stefanski was with Keenum in Minnesota back in 2017-18 when the Vikings went to the NFC Championship Game. That’s the same year the Minneapolis Miracle made Keenum a household name for a hot minute, but it was how Stefanski masterfully navigated the season with a backup quarterback that was the true standout takeaway.
That’s why Stefanski was chosen to be the Browns head coach and craft a winner (finally) in Cleveland. Losing Mayfield is an obvious blow, but it wouldn’t be the first time Keenum and Stefanski partnered up to shock the world.
