Karol G’s ‘Bichota’ Hits No. 1 on Latin Airplay Chart

KAROL G "BICHOTA"

Before “Bichota,” Karol previously reached the Latin Airplay summit completely solo with “Ay, Dios Mío!” (Oct. 10, 2020), both as a female soloist. She’s also secured a spot at the penthouse seven other times, all via collaborative efforts, dating back to “Mi Cama,” with J Balvin, featuring Nicky Jam. The triple-billed act spent one week atop the ranking in August 2018.

Karol G is the sixth female soloist to reach No. 1 on Latin Airplay with a song unaccompanied by another act since 2010. Let’s take a look at the leaderboard:

Artist, Title, Debut/Peak Date
Gloria Estefan, “Hotel Nacional,” Jan. 14, 2012 (debut)
Paulina Rubio, “Me Gustas Tanto,” Feb. 11, 2012
Leslie Grace, “Will U Still Love Me Tomorrow,” Oct. 27, 2012

Aside from its Latin Airplay coronation, the Ovy on the Drums-produced track captures its highest ranking on the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, jumping 75-72. Meanwhile, on the airplay-, streaming-, digital sales-blended Hot Latin Songs chart, “Bichota” returns to its No. 3 high (4-3), where its spent seven previous weeks.

Ovy on the Drums, Karol G & Danny Ocean’s “Miedito o Qué” Hits Top 10 on Latin Rhythm: The trio’s collaboration “Miedito o Qué” reaches a new high on Latin Rhythm Airplay, as it ascends 15-8 with 6 million in audience, up 57%. The Latin pop-rhythmic tune earns Karol her 10th top 10. Ovy and Ocean each claim their first. The song also grows 26-14 on Latin Airplay and re-enters Hot Latin Songs at No. 33 (both new peaks).
