Jusuf Nurkic threatens to follow Damian Lillard out of Portland

According to reports out of Bosnia, Jusuf Nurkic has threatened to leave the Portland Trail Blazers if Damian Lillard leaves town.

Portland Trail Blazers fans have been losing their minds over the past week, as reports have stated that Damian Lillard could end up leaving town. Due to issues with the front office and the backlash from hiring Chauncey Billups as the new head coach, there are rumblings that Lillard could ask for a trade.

If that happens, countless folks are going to be heartbroken — including, apparently, Jusuf Nurkic. So much in fact, he told reporters in his native Bosnia that he too would ask to leave the team if Lillard heads elsewhere.

Jusuf Nurkic said he’d want to leave Portland if Damian Lillard is traded

“As far as I know, the man stays there, but if he goes, then I leave Portland as well,” the standout said in Bosnia. “My opinion is that it would be stupid to let such a loyal man as Lillard go.”

The NBA world would truly be rocked if Lillard got traded. He’s one of the best shooters in the game and has made countless clutch shots for Portland. Imagine if he were to join forces with the Lakers or another elite team. It’d change the dynamic of the league.

For Nurkic, he’s developed a strong bond with Lillard, as they form quite the dangerous duo. Whenever they’re on the floor for Portland, you can better believe electric play is going to follow. With that said, Nurkick clearly won’t be ready to rock on the hardwood for the team without his buddy by his side. Stay tuned to see what happens here, but Portland would obviously be foolish to not try and fix things with Lillard.
