The Ultimate Fighter 29: Episode 5 live stream, start time, and channel guide.
With each weight class having competed twice, episode 5 of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) will feature a middleweight clash between Team Volkanovski’s Bryan Battle and Team Ortega’s Kemran Lachinov.
After four fights in the TUF house this season, Team Volkanovski is still looking to notch their first win. Unfortunately, Mitch Raposa, who Alexander Volkanovski selected first, Aaron Phillips, Ryder Newman, and Dustin Lampros have all come up short in their bid to become this season’s Ultimate Fighter.
While Lampros appeared to be the more polished fighter, it was the heavy-handed Vincent Murdock who was able to close the show in just under three minutes of the first round of their episode 4 bantamweight fight.
The competition will return to middleweight this week as Team Volkanovski’s Bryan Battle will look to snap the team’s 0-4 skid against Team Ortega’s Kemran Lachinov.
Battle, 26, holds a professional record of 5-1. He most recently competed at HR MMA 117 in February of 2021, where he submitted Ben Fowler via rear naked choke. While he only has six professional fights, Battle amassed an impressive amateur record of 8-2. Battle will look to become the first member of his team to get his hand raised this season.
The 30-year-old Lachinov will be the more experienced fighter when these middleweights meet in the Octagon. The Springfield, Massachusetts native is a six-time Bellator MMA veteran, having gone 5-1 inside the promotion. In his last fight, Lachinov dropped a unanimous decision loss to Shamil Nikaev at Bellator 254 in December 2020. Lachinov will attempt to continue the utter domination that his coach Brian Ortega has instilled in the team.
