Dana White tested positive for COVID-19, taking Ivermectin.
News broke on Wednesday that UFC President, Dana White has contracted COVID-19 and is currently in isolation in Las Vegas, NV.
White appeared on The Jim Rome Podcast and revealed the news.
He says that he and his family have tested positive for COVID-19, despite being vaccinated. He’s currently in isolation and plans to be in attendance for UFC Vegas 44 from the UFC APEX.
“Everything’s good,” he told Rome. “My business is on fire, families good. We just went up to my place in Maine. And you know, for Thanksgiving tradition, we go up there, every Thanksgiving somebody up there had [COVID] and we get back and we all tested positive for COVID. So literally, the whole family and my family up in Maine too. Other than that, everybody’s awesome.”
COVID has forced many fights to be scrapped since the start of the pandemic, but that has not stopped the UFC from holding cards on a near-weekly basis. White admitted that he reached out to Joe Rogan, who also contracted COVID-19, about how to proceed.
“So we got back on Saturday,” he said. “On Sunday … I cold plunge and steam every day. So I get out of the cold plunge, I get in the steam and I spray the eucalyptus and I was like what? I couldn’t smell anything. So I opened the bottle. I start sniffing the bottle of eucalyptus and I’m like, Yeah, I got no smell. I said you know what this means? I literally got out of this steam, picked up my phone, and called Joe Rogan.”
Rogan has been a controversial figure throughout the pandemic for information that’s been spread via his platform about various treatments for COVID-19. White outlined what Rogan instructed him to do.
“He said as soon as you get up in the morning, get tested. So I get up at nine o’clock. Monday morning, get tested. I test positive. He said to get monoclonal antibodies in you as soon as possible. So I did. By noon I had the monoclonal antibodies in me and then he told me to do a NAV drip. I did that right after. The next day … so Sunday at eight o’clock at night I have no taste or smell. I get up Tuesday, get ready to shave cleaning my razor. I could smell the alcohol. My taste and smell were back by the next day at 11 o’clock in the morning. Then I took a dose of Ivermectin yesterday then I did a vitamin drip and then today I’m doing another NAV drip. Could not feel better. Feel like a million bucks. I’m doing two-a-day workouts, by the way, for the next 10 days while I have COVID. And you know I’m in quarantine.”
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 780,131 United States citizens have died from the disease and 48 million have reported contracting COVID-19.
