Dalvin Cook’s reaction to Adam Thielen’s season-ending injury

Dalvin Cook is happy to be off the COVID list, but he’s also devastated knowing that Adam Thielen is lost for the season.

Folks all over Minnesota are beyond sad following the Wednesday update that star wide receiver Adam Thielen is out for the year after undergoing ankle surgery. Thielen, who re-injured his ankle in Week 16, had missed multiple games due to the injury.

Among the countless folks who is feeling down in the dumps is no question running back Dalvin Cook. The two are incredibly close on and off the field, which is why Cook is hurting knowing he won’t have Thielen with him out on the gridiron.

Vikings running back Dalvin Cook is heartbroken over Adam Thielen’s injury

“Prayers to my brother,’’ Cook said via the Pioneer Press. “Hope he heals up good. Hope he gets everything intact and gets right. Since I got here (in 2017), he’s been a true brother. Not even football related, just being there for me. We’re going to miss him out there on the football field.”

That quote from Cooks really tells everyone how much Thielen means to him. Again, they are quite close and Cook doesn’t like the idea of trying to make plays for the offense without having Thielen close by.

Minnesota’s life without Thielen will be quite difficult this weekend, as the Vikings are getting ready to take on the Green Bay Packers in some Sunday Night Football action. Aaron Rodgers and Green Bay are 12-3 on the year, and they’re hungry to keep things rocking vs. Minnesota.

Cook will do everything in his power to try and help Minnesota record an upset win now that he’s been activated off the COVID list, but there’s no denying Sunday’s game will be even trickier without Thielen catching balls from Kirk Cousins.
