Cowboys preseason plan for Dak Prescott revealed

The Dallas Cowboys have revealed their preseason plans for quarterback Dak Prescott.

After being held out of the preseason opener vs. the Arizona Cardinals on Friday night, the Dallas Cowboys have a plan in place for getting injured quarterback Dak Prescott some playing time before the start of the regular season.

Prescott threw prior to Friday night’s game with no issues. While the Cowboys plan to take things slow with their franchise quarterback, they are hoping he can return to practice soon and play in the Cowboys’ final preseason game. Their final preseason game will be at home vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars on Aug. 29. Kickoff from AT&T Stadium will be at 1:00 p.m. ET, 12:00 p.m. CT.

Even if Prescott plays only a series vs. the Jaguars in two weeks, it will be worth it for Dallas.

Dallas Cowboys have a plan in place to play Dak Prescott in the preseason finale

The Cowboys face an absurd amount of pressure in the NFC this season. They are arguably the most talented team in the worst division in their conference. If all goes well, then Dallas can reach the NFL playoffs and maybe be a dark horse Super Bowl contender. If it hits the fan again, then the Cowboys could have a new coaching staff in place after a two-year run under Mike McCarthy.

Ultimately, the Cowboys will only go as far as Prescott can take them. If he wants to live up to his lofty salary, he has no choice but to play like a top-10 quarterback this season. Though he has plenty of talent around him to lean on, anything short of a postseason berth will be viewed as a massive disappointment for America’s Team. Without Prescott, the Cowboys are going nowhere.

Prescott seems to be progressing from his injury and could return vs. the Jaguars in two weeks.
