Heart In The Water is the first release following the announcement of their support slot on George Ezra’s UK and Ireland summer tour, and their run of festival dates at Sea Sessions, Lytham Festival and The Indie-pendence.

Speaking about the new track the band, say, “Heart In The Water is about mortality, and the fleeting nature of life. It’s about taking chances regardless of the risk.

“That extends beyond relationships, towards everything in life, reflective of lots of little things, but a certain emotion. That emotion serves more as an expression of a place of ours growing up, in terms of family and friends.”

Named after the bird which frequents the river Boro in Eddie’s native Wexford, the Limerick-based trio produce, write, and record their own music at their home studio, which happens to be located on a dairy farm.

How would you describe your music?

We like to think we’re making big songs. The dream is to play big stages, so we’re writing with that in mind. I grew up loving movie soundtracks, I always felt a good score would elevate the story, so I suppose we’re trying to emulate that in the music.

Who are your musical inspirations?

Mumford, Dermot Kennedy, Snow Patrol are all big ones, U2, Bon Iver.

What was the first gig you ever went to?

The Original Rudeboys in the Strawberry Fair in Wexford.

What was the first record you ever bought?

Manchester Orchestra – Simple Math.

What’s your favourite song right now?

Never Again – Slowthai

Favourite lyric of all time?

“Maybe that’s the price you pay for the chains that you refuse” – Richard Thompson made famous by Christy Moore

If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life, what would it be?

Clar De Lune – Claude Debussy.

Where can people find your music/more information?

Instagram/TikTok – Kingfishrofficial. Twitter – @Kingfishrband. Spotify – Kingfishr.
