Baylor and Houston advance to Final Four snapping long droughts

The first two spots in the 2021 Final Four belong to Texas schools that haven’t made it to college basketball’s premier stage in 71 and 37 years, respectively. Baylor claimed the South Region, while Houston took the Midwest Region on Monday night in Indianapolis.

Leading by as many as 18 points early in the first half, #1 seed Baylor never looked back, not allowing Arkansas back within a basket after the first minute of the game. Baylor went on to win 81-72.

In the opening game of the Elite Eight, Houston raced out to a 17-point halftime lead over Oregon State before hanging on to win 67-61 and making the Final Four for the first time in nearly 40 years.
