Alison Moyet Gets AstraZeneca Jab, Praises ‘Brilliant Efficient Service’

Moyet’s return to social media is nothing short of a public health appeal. Her message comes as officials, doctors and scientists in the U.K. urge Britons to get vaccinated, despite mounting skepticism on the Continent about potential side-effects.

According to the BBC, some 13 countries have halted the rollout of the vaccine as they seek further clarification on its safety. The U.K.’s medicines watchdog, the MHRA, insists the evidence “does not suggest” the jab causes clots.

About 17 million people across the U.K. and Europe have had a dose of the vaccine, including Moyet.

The English singer and songwriter has enjoyed a glittering career, which has yielded two No. 1 albums in the U.K., and a pair of Brit Awards for best female artist.

In the late noughts, Moyet briefly reunited with Vince Clarke for a Yazoo tour, their short-lived but hugely influential ‘80s synth-pop outfit. Moyet’s most recent solo album, Other, dropped in 2017 and peaked at No. 12 in the U.K.
