Pat Tillman was one of the most patriotic athletes that the United States has ever had the pleasure of seeing. He enlisted in the U.S. Army after only his 4th season with the Arizona Cardinals in 2002, and only months after the World Trade Centers were attacked. Honestly, who the hell just leaves their NFL career to go serve their country?
Well, this brave and truly amazing man does.
Unfortunately, we lost Pat two years later after he was killed in Afghanistan from friendly fire in 2004. Even worse, it took some time for that information to even come out about the friendly fire.
Pat Tillman has inspired us all for paying the ultimate sacrifice in service of our country. May he always be remembered.
