The San Antonio Spurs are a legendary team with legendary stars, but there are a few players who had a short stint with San Antonio that was forgettable.

The San Antonio Spurs might be considered the team of Tim Duncan and Gregg Popovich after the incredible success the two shared with the franchise for years, but the franchise actually goes back to the 60s, with teams that were impressive from the start. They had legends like George Gervin and Cliff Hagan, who helped them put together some decent records before the championship-winning ways of the most previous era.

10 Hall of Famers have played for the Spurs over the course of their history. The city doesn’t appeal to legends like New York, Los Angeles, or Miami might, but it’s the culture of the Spurs and the ability to win a championship that brought the former superstars to the Lonestar State.

The Spurs have five championships to their name, but they all came in the Tim Duncan era. The previous eras might seem like a long time ago, but there was a time when the Spurs felt like a team that would never win. Now, they are one of the legendary franchises.

Which NBA legends had a short stint with the San Antonio Spurs?

Some of these players came to San Antonio to revive their careers, while others wanted one last shot at a championship. There are a myriad of reasons to go to the Spurs, and over five decades, legends have found all the types of reasons to do just that. These five legends had forgettable runs in San Antonio, but we’re here to look back at the stints for what they were; a strange mark on an otherwise wonderful career.
